I made a photobooth inspired card for Alex. This is the first page.
My coworker made these individualized heart-shaped cookies. Mine says, “Lederhosen Wedding Dress,” paying homage to my fiance’s Austrian roots.
The cookies weren’t gluten-free, so she also brought macarons from Bouchon Bakery for me to enjoy. This is their PB&J.
I bought Alex tickets to Astor Center‘s Bacon & Bourbon Expo for his birthday in November. It was conveniently scheduled for Valentine’s Day. Here I am enjoying some Redemption Rye and Bacon-Chipotle Popcorn.
I learned how what the difference is between bourbon and rye* and how to make a bacon infused cocktail with a method called fat washing from Don Lee, formerly of PDT
We tasted 5 different artisanal bacon strips. My favorites were #2 and #4 because they melted in your mouth.
My Valentine’s Day gift was treats from Tu-Lu’s Gluten Free Bakery. These are her delicious and beautiful sugar cookies that we ate for dessert.
* bourbon, rye, and other grain alcohols are considered gluten-free because of the distillation process.

Very cute! Happy V day!
